For the Wobble Rowing iOS application.
This Privacy Policy describes how WobbleRowing ("I," "me," or "my") handles information in connection with the Wobble Rowing mobile application ("the App"). I am committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about my data practices.
No personally identifiable information is collected by this App. The App does not collect your name, email address, or any data that could be used to identify you as an individual.
GPS and Location Data. The App collects GPS data for two purposes: to calculate and verify boat speed, and to verify that sessions are taking place at water locations. This data is used solely for these research functions and is not used to track individuals.
Motion and Sensor Data. The App collects sensor data from your iPhone's accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer via Apple's Core Motion framework. This data is used to calculate the Wobble Factor (stability), stroke rate, and speed during your sessions.
No Account Required. Wobble does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
First-Launch. The first time the App is opened on a device, it sends a single anonymous request to a special endpoint on wobblerowing.com so that I can celebrate a new user! The request contains no identifiers, account information, or personal data. IP addresses, device information, and User-Agent strings are not retained. No further requests of this kind are made after the first launch.
All data collected by the App is used exclusively for research purposes, specifically to improve the models developed around rowing stability, stroke rate, and speed. Your data is not used for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.
Data collected by the App is stored in Apple's iCloud database, CloudKit. This data is used solely for research purposes, specifically to improve the models developed around rowing stability, stroke rate, and speed. This data is not shared with third parties or used for any commercial purpose.

You may revoke either permission at any time in your iPhone's Settings app, though doing so will limit the App's ability to calculate the affected metrics.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. No personal information is knowingly collected from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please get in touch through the address below and that information will be deleted.
Data collected by the App is retained as part of an ongoing research project. If you wish to have your data removed from the research project, please get in touch through the Support page and it will be removed upon request.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When that happens, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
